Assessments will take place.  These are carried out by a variety of departments including Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech and Language, Psychologists, Paediatricians and CAMHS.  Some, or all of these professionals may be involved in the assessment process.  Once a diagnosis has been made, these professionals will carry out the relevant intervention.

Children Strategies for helping and teaching your child may also be put in place. physiotherapy and occupational therapy programmes may be put in place. Aids to assist in the home may also be given to you.

Adults Social Services may carry out an assessment to see what provisions are required to assist you with your Social skills inside and outside of the home. Aids are available to help in and around the home. A work assessment and risk assessment will need to be carried out and suitable adaptations made. Your employer is able to get financial assistance to make these changes. Follow the link for more information regarding your rights. Training is available to employers. See CWDS Training.

There are several books available for parents, carers and teachers about Dyspraxia and ways to help. A list of available resources is available from us.
